seven squad goals

I first came across Circle Movement and the 3 beautiful Co-Founders Kristy, Adelle and Rachel only recently, through the wonderful connecting tool of Instagram. Some might say it was by chance but I believe it was more than that (thanks universe).

After a couple of comments back and forth we had locked in a date for coffee that week, (turns out we live in the same area) it was an instant admiration for what these women have created and the message they are sharing with the world. I felt oh-so inspired and knew I needed to be a part of it in anyway I could.

Their latest inspired project or movement is the 7 Squad Goals, kicking off today, March 1st and continuing for the next week until March 7th, leading up until International Women’s Day.

What are the #7SQUADGOALS?

Squad Goal (skwäd/ɡōl) (noun) (plural noun: squad goals): an aspirational term for what you’d like your group of friends to be or accomplish.

You’re invited to complete at least one of our squad goals. These goals have been designed with the sisterhood in mind; to empower you as a woman & to empower women around the world.

  1. Do something you have never done before

  2. Speak out about injustice towards women

  3. Encourage another woman

  4. Refashion an old outfit

  5. Make a donation to A21

  6. Make a #BringBackOurGirl Badge

  7. Rest, relax, refresh

Gather your girls and tick off one or all seven of goals. Follow the adventure on Instagram @Circle_Movement  #CircleMovement

What made me decide I just HAD to be a part of this?

I want to get informed.
I no longer want to shy away from the things that seem too sad, too scary, too big and out of my control.

“All that is necessary for evil to triumph is that a good person does nothing”

When I was younger I cried for all the bad that went on in the world. I’d lay awake at night thinking about how sad it made me + how helpless I felt. I vowed that when I was older I’d do something towards changing it.

But as I got older I became overwhelmed by how much needed to change and instead of choosing to focus on one thing at a time, I shut everything out. I don’t watch the news very often or read the papers because every time I do, I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders.

I let my personal fear + sadness stop me from being aware and taking action.
I didn’t know where to start so I stopped.

Today I am changing that.

I want to be enlightened + brave because I can. I want to make choices because I am privleged enough to be able to.

The famous quote by Mahatma Gandhi says:

“Be the change you wish to see in the world”

I realise now that I may not be able to fix everything, especially not all at once but I can be an active part of the change I wish to see in the world.

I am a multi passionate person with a big heart and that can feel scary in a world filled with pain + suffering but it is time to use the gifts + voice I have been given.

So I am going to be joining the inspiring women of Circle Movement in the Seven Squad Goals, which are open to your own interpretation or you can join in with the many suggestions available on the website .

What I love is that they are starting a conversation + creating an awareness.
They are bridging the gap between all or nothing and making change accessible to all women.

There are 3 topics included in the goals that I actually knew (and am yet to learn more) nothing about.

Often topics like this would have broken my heart (they still do) but instead of turning away I want to turn towards them and ask- What can I do to help?

No matter how small, there are things you can do, even if it is simply raising your own awareness.

So darling I want to ask you – will you join me in this quest for empowerment + change for the women of the world?

Head to or the Circle Movement Facebook Page for all the details.
(Even if you see this after the start date, please feel free to join in)

This is the first of many soulful projects I will be taking part in and look forward to a year of connection + change, while inspiring and empowering others to do the same (or something different).

Big Love

Amy xx
