What does living an inspired lifestyle mean to you?
Living an inspired life to me means that I need to be moved by the work that I’m doing, and the life I am living. If my life isn’t making me feel something – excited, fired up, passionate, fulfilled – then there’s a disconnection.
Living an inspired life looks completely different for everyone, the thing is it doesn’t matter what it looks like on the outside – that’s not the point – it matters how it makes you feel on the inside, and only you know that!
So for me, it’s about feeling fully expressed, using my voice, being creative, following what I’m most passionate about and most importantly, it means actually getting shit done – doing the work inspires me so much more than just waiting around for my dreams! Instead I can actually take action and create them!
How do you create change in your life and/or business?
I love this question – first and foremost, understanding that I am responsible for it all. I have it within my power to change and create the life I want according to my own heart. I think that most people forget that! We forget that we are actually in control of our lives and it starts with telling yourself a new and empowering story in your mind to start seeing a new story unfold on the outside – like seriously, how cool is that? Your past stories won’t dictate your future one unless you allow them to.
One of the biggest things I realised too is that we are all leaders of our own lives, and being a leader means that you have to lead yourself first. You have to believe in yourself, love yourself, invest in yourself, back your intuition, crank up your own passion, forgive and let go of a lot first – then the magic happens.
What challenges have you faced along the way?
I always get hit with self-doubt and fear of what other people will think of me, but I’ve come to realise that all that is part of the deal in this lifetime! It’s there, but it only has the power that I give to it, and I’d rather believe in myself than in my fears.
When did you first know you were meant for something more and how did you take the leap?
I always knew that I wanted to help others, and when I was younger I saw myself being a teacher – I just wasn’t sure how it was going to look. I became really disconnected from myself and what I truly wanted to do, and that icky feeling was enough to wake me up. From there my intuition kept leading me because I was then willing to listen.
When making big decisions about being ‘all in’ or taking a leap of faith, I get my serious voice on and ask myself this “If I am 100% committed to living my biggest dreams and reaching my highest potential, then what would I do?” The answer is majority of the time – just freakin do it! Forget logic – let your heart lead.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Ooo can I pick two? I wish that everyone could remember that we are alllll on the same team!! Noone is better than or less than anyone else, we are all standing side by side. And also, I wish people would know that following your own heart and creating your most badass life ever IS how you serve the World. You being happy, expressing yourself, loving yourself, being of service, writing that book, healing yourself, painting, writing, teaching, being your most joyful self – that is your service to the collective. We need more of that!!!
If you were to give one piece of advice to someone who is ready for more but holding back through fear of the unknown, what would it be?
By answering the question above – “If you were 100% committed to your biggest dreams and reaching your highest potential, then what would you do?” And here’s the thing, the most awesome stuff can ONLY happen in the unknown zone. This is where you are most open and magnetic for miracles. Every single person that you look up to and admire, they got to where they are because they trusted themselves (and the Universe) enough to dive into the unknown. So you can to!
Is there a person or experience that inspired change in your life, if so who and what?
It was definitely a collection of things – but big things started changing and shifting for me most when I committed to getting to know myself and understanding my mind on a deeper level. Through reading, listening to podcasts, attending workshops, personal development seminars, hours of journaling, learning to meditate, reading about energy, and working with healers, coaches and my mentors – all of that growth is what I am most proud of. You have to show up for yourself to empower yourself because if you aren’t investing in growing yourself, then what are you doing??
What are your top 3 ways to stay inspired?
+ Being surrounded by people who are constantly growing themselves and setting BIG goals for their lives too. I love that saying about the 5 people you hang around most being a reflection of you and the direction you are going – it can be confronting, but that’s real talk right there!
+ Working with my own mentors and coaches that continually push me, in a good way. They inspire me so much to keep growing and getting better!
+ Doing what brings me the MOST joy. That should be everyone’s number one rule 😉
What is one thing people don’t know about you (it can be something fun, a fear, or something close to your heart – whatever you would like to share)?
I’m a fiery Aries with a lot of passion and drive (if you hadn’t worked that out already!) – but I also don’t take myself seriously at all and love to bring out my inner child and muck around!
I absolutely loved connecting with Tracey and getting to know all of these beautiful insights into her life, passions + beliefs. A couple of my biggest takeaways were:
Ohhh my goodness this interview was full of SO MUCH GOODNESS it is hard to pick just 3 but here we go…
- I love love loved how Tracey shares that to create change she realises it starts with her. That we are all leaders of our own lives. Hell Yeah lady!
- When Trace is making a decision she get’s her serious voice on and asks herself
“If I am 100% committed to living my biggest dreams and reaching my highest potential, then what would I do?” and most of the time the answer is forget logic – let your heart lead. GOLD!
- In Tracey’s piece of advice she said “Every single person that you look up to and admire, they got to where they are because they trusted themselves (and the Universe) enough to dive into the unknown. So you can to!” Amen to this!
