What does living an inspired lifestyle mean to you? How do you create change in your life and/or business?

Living an inspired lifestyle for me is living a life that I love.  I feel energized when I am around people and when I’m arranging an event where I know people are going to have the opportunity to connect, be encouraged and empowered.  My business Events4Change is all about creating change in my community that can affect people here and around the world and hopefully for generations to come.

What challenges have you faced along the way? How have you, or are you overcoming them?

For me the biggest challenge to date was actually stepping out and starting my business!  Being motivated to make it happen. Once I took that leap I have had no regrets, I have been so encouraged and inspired to keep going in leaps & bounds.  A major part of overcoming the challenge of continuing has been by surrounding myself with like minded people, people who encourage me & believe in me. I am part of some great networking groups, went on an amazing retreat – setting time aside to look after yourself is so important.

When did you first know you were meant for something more and how did you take the leap?

I guess I’ve always had a sense I was destined for something great from a young age. My parents are so supportive and nurtured me to believe I was amazing & that if I worked hard & took chances I could accomplish what I set out to do. I have been very fortunate to have wonderful people around me throughout my life cheering me on.  As far as Events4Change was concerned I took a life changing trip to Rwanda in 2014 – this was one of those pivotal times that I will always looks back on & treasure. Nothing can prepare you for a visit to a country like that. For the things you see & experience, the people you meet and love. WOW. It’s hard to express what it does to you.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?

One thing… now that’s hard! I’m all about change! If I had to choose ONE thing right now I’d say – “how people see themselves”.

If you were to give one piece of advice to someone who is ready for more, but holding back through fear of the unknown, what would it be?

You’ve got this babe. Give as much energy to your dreams as your fears – you will be amazed what will happen!

Is there a person or experience that inspired change in your life, if so who and/or what?

I met this incredible young girl when I was in Rwanda.  She was 12 years old, an orphan but oh so full of hope! She had big dreams to be a doctor as all she wants to do is help other children like her. I believe she will do this though in many ways the odds are against her – she had a determination and clarity that was inspiring. She inspired me to do what was in my heart.

What are your top 3 ways to stay inspired?

Take time to dream & plan (with my notebook or laptop), be around like-minded people (especially at parties) & watch my daughters (watch them play, sleep, be).

What is one thing people don’t know about you (it can be something fun, a fear, or something close to your heart – whatever you would like to share)?

That’s a hard one – I’m an open book! Though it may surprise some people, that I do enjoy some alone time I am a total people person but I definitely like to be by myself time too.
