What does living an inspired lifestyle mean to you?

A inspired life means to me waking up every day in a state of peace, happiness and contentment.
Living a life of truth and to share my talents and gifts with others in the hope that what I create helps them live a life of honesty as well.

How do you create change in your life and/or business?

I believe creating change in ones life is a process that can’t always be done quickly. What I like to do is take a step back from whatever is bothering me or I feel needs to change and don’t think about it for awhile. I then go back to it and write down my emotions/feelings towards the situation. I then put together an action plan which consists of small steps that I can put into motion and will start creating the change that I am wanting which leads to where I want to be. I also find discussing it with someone I trust, respect and who will give me the hard truth but in a loving way helps me get out of my head, sort out what I need to do and take action. They hold me accountable which is extra motivation.

What challenges have you faced along the way? How have you, or are you overcoming them?

Starting my own business and dealing with the social side of things has been a ginormous challenge. Anyone that is close to me knows that I am an extremely private person. For people to feel connected with me though (which is a huge must when running a successful business) then I have to reveal myself fully to people. No smoke and mirrors, just me and my bare truth. After all, that is my motto for my business. How can I expect others to do the same in their day to day lives if I am not practicing it either. I have to confess that having my own business   has been a shake up and I did stop and think whether this was the right thing for me. I want people to love my designs, products and business as much as I do because I love what it’s stands for. I want people to feel a connection with me and feel motivated and inspired by my creations, so putting my true self out there is the only way to do it. And you know what? It’s quite a beautiful feeling living every day just being the true me and not hiding from it.

When did you first know you were meant for something more and how did you take that leap?

Deep down I always knew I was meant to do inspiring work but my fears, not listening to my gut and simply life itself held all my potential back. With all the twists and turns that life has thrown at me and all the people that I have met along my journey, I finally put all the lessons together and just went for it. My truth and creativity was itching to get out and show the world what it was made of and so I’ve now allowed it to shine. Plus when you have people that encourage you and support you every step of the way, it makes being you much easier.

If you were given one piece of advice to someone who is ready for more, but holding back through fear of the unknown, what would it be?

Find a trusting cheer squad whether it is a partner, close friend, family member, life coach to help guide and support you through your change. Having that back up I believe is a must to get through tough times and succeeding.

Is there a person or experience that inspired change in your life, if so who and/or what?

My husband and his unconditional love gave me a boost to go out and achieve my dreams.
My experience with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome helped shape me into the understanding, patient and confident woman I have become.

What are your top three ways to stay inspired?

Reading, connecting with others that have the same attitude and outlook on life and going out and exploring different places and trying new things.

What is one thing people don’t know about you?

I am an avid ‘Gilmore Girls’ fan. What’s better than powerful women with quick wit and bucketful of sarcasm? Nothing I tell you, nothing at all. I am sooooooo chomping at the bit for the reunion to be finished and shown to the world. I mean, what’s taking them so long? Don’t they know I am waiting for it? Rudness!

I’d love to hear what your biggest takeaways or inspirations were from Karen’s interview? Please share away in the comments below.
