What does living an inspired lifestyle mean to you?

Starting my day early with some kind of exercise. Being able to light up the people in my life and mentor. Be healthy and eat nourishing food. Spending quality time with my loved ones. Practicing gratitude with everything I do. Also learning something new everyday.

How do you create change in your life and/or business?

I am a big believer in following your intuition. When you lead with your heart over your head you tend to make the changes you need in your life. I do like to also set goals but I’m not too hard on myself if I don’t reach them all.

I also have a coach (the amazing Amy Mackenzie) and accountability partners that guide me along the way. I think having a coach has really helped speed up the process of getting my business off the ground.

What challenges have you faced along the way?

The biggest one for me has been allowing myself to lean into feeling vulnerable. I have been writing my blog for a year now and also have published a few articles. Every time I press post I feel a little scared and worried about what the world will think.

It’s hard to put yourself out there to be judged. At the same time though I have been rewarded so much for stepping out of my comfort zone in the last year. I wont be looking back. The magic really does happen outside your comfort zone.

When did you first know you were meant for something more and how did you take the leap?

I have worked super hard in my corporate career moving up the ladder and I always knew that the favourite part of my job was mentoring people. I had this pull towards always helping others, especially women to really step up into their power.

After growing up, in a household, which was full of money struggles, I am also very passionate about educating others on how to live within their means and reach financial freedom.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?

I would ensure everyone had access to clean water. There are so many unnecessary deaths from water borne diseases all over the world. I have worked in the water industry in Australia for the last 11 years so this is something I am very passionate about. We are so blessed to have access to clean water in Australia.

If you were to give one piece of advice to someone who is ready for more but holding back through fear of the unknown, what would it be?

Just get started. Whatever your heart is calling you to do. Even if its baby steps put one foot in front of the other and get started.

It was the best advice for me when I started blogging. Publishing my first post was so scary but once I got started it just kept going from there.

Is there a person or experience that inspired change in your life, if so who and what?

There are so many people who have inspired me along the way. I would have to say in the last year Louise Hay and Wayne Dyer are definitely the top 2. In their writing they have helped so many people. Louise’s book ‘You Can Heal Your Life’ is a favourite of mine as its practical advice on how you can heal your physical body and your mind.

What are your top 3 ways to stay inspired?

  • Daily gratitude practice
  • Take time out each week to dream and ponder
  • By sleeping and eating well

What is one thing people don’t know about you (it can be something fun, a fear, or something close to your heart – whatever you would like to share)?

One day I want to write a book or two, run a health retreat, workshops and live closer to the ocean. So hopefully in a few years that dream becomes a reality.

Highlights Reel:

I absolutely loved connecting with Jodie and getting to know all of these beautiful insights into her life, passions + beliefs. A couple of my biggest takeaways were:

  • I couldn’t agree more with Jodie’s advice on stepping outside of your comfort zone and loved that it came from one of her biggest challenges (the good stuff always does)
  • Amen to clean drinking water – what a change that would make in the world.
  • I really love how Jodie’s top 3 ways to stay inspired are the simple, yet most powerful things. Try practicing those yourself and see the changes.

I’d love to hear what your biggest takeaways or inspirations were from Jodie’s interview? Please share away in the comments below.
